About RDCMS
Introduction
The RDCMS is designed to allow people
with few computer skills to develop
their own professional looking websites
quickly and easily. It combines a
site wide template with
programming that creates and displays
the site's web pages.
The user can create as many or as few
pages as he likes, and arrange them in
the order that makes sense to him.
The program displays the menu
structure and content in the template
page by page with no need for the site
owner to do more than create the pages
in the administrator's area.
One type of application (main-site) is
for small to medium sized sites where
site owners want to control the content
but do not have the design skills or
time to create and maintain a
completewebsite. They can start
with the home page and create as many
pages and links as they like. The
menu structure and content will be
displayed in the site template.
Another common type of application
(sub-site) is where a site owner or
business or organization wants to give
web space on their main web sites to
staff or other associates or to a
department. In this scenario the
RDCMS is installed in it's own directory
apart from the main website. All
of the pages or links created by the
administrators for the sub-site would
then be displayed from this directory.
The URL would be
http://www.mainsite.com/mysite/.
There are many other ways RDCMS can be
used as well. Since all creation
is done online in a web browser, then
the site can be worked on by more than
one administrator. Special
programs like Dreamweaver or Frontpage
are not required. Even web
graphics can be resized and cropped
online, so most of the hassles of
creating a great website are eliminated!
RDCMS is designed to make website
development within the reach of
everyone!
